RX3 Project car progress report

Work has started on the project.

I completed the conversion of the dif. LSD and Disk brake conversion installed, New shocks and the leaf springs re-arched and an extra leaf added.

Now I've pulled everything out of the engine bay and dashboard to prep for paint.

Looks like I've lined up all front end components except the pitman arm and I only found a rebushing kit for the idler arm.

Progress Jan 08

more progress on the car.

Tires, wheels all around, 4 piston caliper brakes up front. Replaced all the brake hard lines and installed stainless flex lines and changed the vacuume booster/ Master cylinder to a big bore manual brake master.

12a and tranny in the engine bay for mock up.

Undercarage cleaned and recoated, original heat sheild ready to install for the exhaust build.

Front sheet metal back on the car!

I've cut open the wiring harness to remove the old unused wires. Now I need to select an altenator, ignition system and guages etc. to complete the wiring.

Just about finished

A lot of progress made.

½ bridge 12a with a RX3 intake and modded nikki with carter fuel pump. 2" dual exhaust to 3" over the dif and out a magnaflow. 4-puck clutch, direct fire with MSD box. rebuilt original rad with stock plastic rad and under engine shroud. Lots of new gauges, duel exhaust temp, oil temp/pressure, coolant temp.

A few details left, new light bulbs all around, connecting up the gauge dash lights, installing the cables to the carb and putting all the fluids back in the car. Biggest expense left is a new drive shaft( mock up currently in-place).

Fire it up, set the timing, wash everything.

Drive it for a while and shake out issues, then strip it all down again for paint!
