RX3 project car "Now with pictures"

I now have pictures of my car. Since I first posted here I stumbled on a bridge port 12a, 3 trany's and a couple of boxes of stuff.

My new plan is to rebuild an engine using the 2 I have with the irons from the bridge port. I'll select the other components based on how they look.

I had a number of inquires for pictures. I now have a number.

I've spent a lot of time searching the site and have learned much. I suspect I'm on the early part of the learning curve. I'm looking forward to your opinions and questions through my project

As a remark on your last picture: the clips to hold the chrome trim are still available new from Mazda. I have just bought around 40 for my RX-3 restoration.
The clips came unpainted/unprotected on our cars and I believe they are the main reason for the windshield rust on all early Rxs.
The clips rust away and take the body in the process.
The clips I got now from Mazda have been painted. They learned...

No, the strut tower was slightly dished to provide the clearance for the air box. The air box was built using fiberglass (from my boat building hobby). The clearances are tight but the cross sectional area continues to expand from the carb to the main plenum of the air box. Clearance with the strut tower were enough that the box and strut tower did not contact each other under heavy use. This carb set up worked far better than the 650 holly I had on before. I have not confirmed what webber these are but the serial # starts with a 45.

Thanks for the info on the clips for the trim.

You should post your buildup on www.vintagerotaries.com . You could get lots of help there.
