Rx3 engine

Ok; Todays dumb question> What would be the best car to transplant a 1973 12A engine into? always wanted a sleeper, my 1973 RX 3 wagon is badly salted. I can have a 280Zx for 150 or what else? Bob

I'm waiting to do a VW Super Beetle. At ~1800 lbs its a no brainer and theres less drivetrain loss so more HP to the ground. You can get an adapter to bolt it to the VW tranny and it can handle what a NA 12A can dish out. Hardest part is locating the radiator up front but its not really that hard.

The 280ZX is a pretty heavy car, a 240 would be a better choice. But then, they already come with a pretty kickass engine so it would be kinda pointless in my opinion.

Maybe keep an eye out for a SA with a blown motor?

I don't know guys. Seems to me - for the same reason most of us dislike putting a piston motor in a rx7 - a rotary in a Z car is sacrilegious.

Now, good old 80's turd boxes were made for rotary swaps.
