RX3 dashboard

I'm getting the vinyl part of my dash redone and I was just wondering what color the metal part should be. Mine is all rusted now, and I don't know if it's originally flat black or glossy black. Thx for any help.

What company is re-doing your dash? Is it just a reg interior place? I have an RX4 with a serious dash issue that needs some attention. Ohh and to not get off topic, im not sure what color, a glossy black should do the trick.

dash

I'm getting it done at some auto upholstery place by my house. They do pretty good work, mainly on hotrods. I'm guessing a semi gloss black will look pretty good.

Use low-gloss black paint on the metal. Sand it down, prime it with rust o loeum and let it bake in the sun for a day. Sand it down again and re-paint and let it bake again. Then spray it with low-gloss and again, sand it down with 800 grit prior to final coat. Thats how I did my 73 RX-3. It was a long process but Im just very ****ytical

In Glendora, same guy that did the interiors in my RX-3's and bro's 3-rotor SP, turbo duece and bp RX-4.

I will have him do another RX-3 dash so let me know when you wanna do yours. maybe we can get a discount.

Will do! As soon as my suspension parts get here from Australia (ordered like 2 weeks ago and still aren't here ) I'll install 'em and should be ready for the dash!

hey wacky a friend of mine got his impale done at some place in Glendora. He got the whole interior done except for the dash and headliner for like 1100 bucks. He even did the trunk. It might be the same guy. I was planning on doing my interior done once I finish up the electrical. I'll hit you up....
