How similar are old Mazda Piston Engine trucks to the REPU?

I'd love to have a REPU but don't think I'll ever find one where I am .

I have a 74 RX-4 13B engine/tranny/rad etc. . that I was thinking of putting in old B-series if I could find one . Will this work and were any model years the same as the REPU, except for the engine?

The swap would be like any other rotary to piston swap. Parts of the cabs are different, some part are the same.

I understand the front Grill and tail gate are different from the B1600 or B1800.

Anything else anyone can add ?

also would the rotary tranny fit in the B series tunnel ?

I don't know much about the non-rotary trucks, but from what I hear the swap is pretty easy. The transmission is the same, you only need a bell housing from the rotary to bolt up to it. Mostly you just need to build motor mounts. The frame on the piston trucks is narrower in the front but I don't know if that makes much difference.

Aside from that the visual differences are the rotary has flared fenders, different grill, and different head and tail lights. The dash is different and the tailgate is different. Other than the dash I believe the cab is the same except for the chrome trim the rotary trucks have in the windshield weatherstripping.

The sheet metal structure from the firewall forward if different. To mount the REPU fenders, grill, headlights, radiator, etc. you must cut off from the firewall forward. Would not need to go to all the trouble for just a motor swap through.

this is a site that sells the motor mounts for a b2200. im almost done with my swap, put in a 88 na, added a turbo. just finishing up wiring now. u use the na tranny and swap on the truck tail housing (allowing the use of stock shifter location, and tranny crossmember mount.
