Rx3 Convertible

I used to race this car in the PDX area.... Maybe some of you guys remember it? There was three of us and our team was aptly named BarCats Racing.... that was 20 years ago.... this car was converted in 92 or 93 .... The right rear of the car was pushed in or rather forward around 3-4 inches and the roof buckled a bit by a hit and run yard service co. truck.... when the coppers caught up to the guy, he had been drinking all day, and said he didn't notice hitting the car.... long story, I know..... anyway the insurance paid me 2800 or something like that and

I got to keep the car.....

they totaled it, so I decided to make a nice convertible out of it. I do have better pic's if anybody needs to see them.

Yes, without the weight of the top the car was much faster...... donuts all day....I bet that top was close to 500 pounds.... I only kept it for a couple months after that, then of to Rx3Heaven.....

Epinions??????

Always wanted to make an RX3 convert, thought a coupe with a sedan trunk lid would work nicely.

hardly any flex at all, but I didn't get to drive it everywhere as the one side was pretty smashed up..... I may do it again to an 808 if somebody has an extra closeby, say Portland, Seattle or Spokane..... better yet to cut the top on one that was a rollover..... I'll use the top from a mid sized convert. There used to be a place in PDX called rx7heaven that made gen 1's into convert's, think it was in Gresham.... would like to know if they had to beef it up.... Mine was fine but I didn't jump any R/R tracks with it.....
