Mazda Trucks

So I was at a guys house this weekend and he had an 72 Mazda B1600? looked almost like a Repu. what years look like this and is changing out the pistion engine for a Rotary Hard? I assume I can keep the same trans and would just have to fab up a mount system for the engine?

Thanks

Since tranny mount can easily be fabricated like the front engine mount, you may as well use a RX-7 tranny and just get a custom driveshaft.

the tranny tunnell is lower in the piston engine'd truck since it's crankshaft is lower than a rotormotor's.

would still be a fun project!

The B1600 was imported from 1972-1977 and was a near identicle twin to the Ford Courier which Mazda made for Ford. The mazda had the 160cc and the Ford had the Mazda made 1800cc engine. Many of the trim pieces from the B1600 interchange with the REPU and Courier.

The ones I have seen have the reverse open hood just like a RE/PU,but the prop rod or lack there of are different.
