rx3 13bt (s4) swap?

just found myself a 72 rx3! now its time i get rid of my 87 TII. i wanna transplant the 13bt (stock) in the rx3. any fit ment issues? does the stock turbo clear the sides without cutting or banging?

being a l/h/d rx3, the turbo will clear. you wont have any dramas there. you will need a 12a or 13b front cover. if you can get your hands on a 12a turbo front cover thats the best, as it has the 4 line oil metering pump. you will also need an rx4 13b sump. fit all of these things, and the engine should go straight in. just remember the 13b is 20mm longer than a 12a

thanks for the info! all the good links and write-ups are so old they no longer work. here is a picture of the car. i took off the headlight surrounds to straighten them out.

you wouldnt by any chance know of anyone with a 12a model rx3 for sale? im wanting to get one and bring it back to Aus, Cause we only have r/h drive ones, and i want somehting different. even one without motor and box would be awsome

the stock turbo wont clear the frame. so you need a custom turbo header.

PM Rene 61620B @ west forum. he jsut opened a new shop and thats where one of my RX-3's will be going for full exhaust and other fabrication.
