Rx2 Grill suggestions !?!

I'm about to restore the grill and thought I'd get some suggestions from you guys.

I've seen grills redone in black, colormatched with the car, and chromed.

I need to use some glue to fix a crack, but other than that it's ready to go....just need some feedback.

...my poor Rx2 is FINALLY going to be painted next week...new pics soon of this bare metal resto.

Also, don't Australia 2's have square headlights? That might look pretty goofy on a US spec RX-2. Mike

Also, while we're on the topic of RX-2 grills -- I have a spare RX-2 grill if anyone needs one. It's in good condition, only 3 minor hairline cracks which can easily be painted over. Only has the center Mazda badge, missing the others. It'll probably go on eBay fairly soon if nobody needs it.

Jamie - personally I'd go with a black grill over chrome or some other color, but that's just me.

That's what I needed to hear Mike....Mine only has a small crack on the passenger side on the middle hole. No biggie. I will most likely go down to PepBoys and get some TrimBlack spray and redo it...I have a nice new center emblem and a perfect RE...

The square headlights were only on the series 1 RX-2's in Australia, they went to round lights in late 72 with the series 2.

Personally I like the grill flat black, it might look cool color matched to the body if your repainting it the same that purple-black, but I'm not sure about any other colors. I took the middle Mazda "tooth" emblem out of mine, and just have the RE emblem in the bottom corner. I like it better that way but I'm not doing a full resto either, wish I could.

Back to the topic. I like it black. They have a black trim paint which looks good, kinda like black satin.
