My brake upgrade.................
*TII caliper
*E30 rotor= will change to a 2ndGen rotor
*Custom brake bracket
*Non turbo brake line
The Rx2 and 2ndgen use different threads on the brake line you will need to improvise!!!
I used the E30 rotor because is was readily available for me to use. With this set up I was able to keep the Rx2 hub with no mod done the Rx2 spindle.
I removed the stock rotor from the Rx2 hub(removed 4 bolts). The E30 rotor was machined to fit into the Rx2 hub with the same spec.
I drilled the original four holes on the hub bigger for the new hardware I was using to bolt the E30 rotor to the Rx2 hub.
The stock hardware was used to mount the bracket onto the strut assembly.
I mounted the caliper in front of the rotor instead of behind because of clearance issues. It can be done, however I didn't want to waste time on trying to make it fit.
I'm definitely looking for feedback good or bad.
I'm looking for 2ndGen hub if someone want to donate one. The next step is to mount a 2ndGen hub onto the Rx2 spindle using a custom made bearing.

Thank you! I wish I had more time to work on it.
I didn'f forget about you. I'm just slacking! I never thought about making the bracket bigger for bigger rotor. You gave me something to think about. For now I will work on getting the kinks out of this project before I start another one.

Im talking even with this bracket it looks like it could hold a slightly larger rotor it seems like not the entire brake pad surface is covered by the rotor itself. hope this makes sence.
my $0.02. you make life difficult. make it simple as possible. sure you can upgrade the brake but what about the rest? RX-2 strut cartridge are hard to come by and there isnt much selection. Told you to try out something else

I will call you this week end so we can make it happen.
coil overs I think are still available but what about a good set of strut cartridge. there is other options out there except most guys are either lazy or scared to experiment.
bring me a duece and I will show you how it is done right LOL

Re-speed sells a $35 adapter that sits in the bottom of the rx2 strut. get a set of Tokico blues from a 81-85 rx-7 for roughly $120. Then you have new fronts for about $150 total. no dicking around and totally reversible.......work smart not hard grasshopper.

Yeah physically small brakes are true. My mate here in San Jose with a ported 12a and Miata 6 speed conversion with stock drum/disk setup that stops really well. Maybe going rear disc would be better served and money wise. I dont think guys are doing all this work to marginally improve braking. The lack of new rotors really forces people to do more than they should.
Replacement strut and shocks are available..... but only in aussie land. their made by KYB front are excel-g 363008 and rear are excel-g 341010. When i called KYB they told i have to called the distributor in aussie land to have them shipped to the us. Hope this help some one looking for replacement with out having to use spacer or do any modifications.

there is a guy in aus selling the full kit version of the same jobbie -

Then you just go here www.theracingstore.com and buy new upgraded brakes that bolt right on and are half the weight. Oh, wait I forgot you're a tight *** aren't you Wacky.

ps. After awhile you get used to the cold garage and you don't have to hear the old lady yap anymore. Just me and my *** green duece living happily ever after.

BTW- I'm racing my *** green duece at Irwindale with the new transmission this thursday so if you're bored and have nothing better to do, which I know is the case, come on down and see whats up.
