RX2 12a twin dizzy auto to manual

Hey everyone,
just picked up a twin dizzy rx2 automatic.
She's in pretty good condition.
I'm wondering about converting it to manual.

I've read up about the twin dizzy motor, and it sounds like its not the best engine to work with and hard to find parts. And also hard to find a gearbox that would work with this engine.
Would I be better off getting a newer 12a with a 5 speed trans and putting that in?
Also with the pedal box and clutch setup, I've found a pedal box from an RX3, would that work? If not, what else could I use?

Your help is appreciated!

I have a bunch of twin dizzy parts. This includes rebuild seal kit, water pump, spare dizzies, front covers, rotors, carbs. I also have a complete engine with accessories and four speed trans.

I don't have a peddle box.

Yeah the old 12A twin distributor motors had a specific rear housing / bell housing pattern .So if you are staying with that engine you will need a pre-1974 trans from a RX-2 or 3 . From 1974 on they stayed pretty much the same so a RX-7 5 speed would fit onto a 1974 and later engine . Being an auto , you'll need a flywheel and will need to install a pilot bearing in the E-shaft and go from there .....

You're better off finding a lightweight flywheel since you already have the auto counterweight.
