Sorry but the 3 rotor was never imported in any form let alone a REPU. We all wish they were however. The Rotary Engine Pick Up came with a 4 port 13B and was produced from 1974-1977 they were only imported into the US, and canada they were not released in japan or in AUS. There was a little over 15000 made and thats not very many so they have become quite rare. I own two of them and there are a few more on here that own them as well.

I recently picked one up myself, pretty neat little truck. I've already used it several times to haul things around.

I have never seen another in this area, other than the one my pal had sitting in his back lot but his was missing lots of stuff. Engine had overheated and it was sitting for 10+ years.

Anyhow, check mine out and let me know what you think:

Ya thats gotta either be a 75 or a 76. Because if you look close to the hood hinges you can see that it has the torsion bar to hold the hood open, and as far as i think those only came in 75 and later. Then thats not a 77 cus the cab is the old style, and there were not nearly as many 76's made as 75's so my guess is its a 75 second choice 76. Any it looks pretty streight. and the exterior is somplete except the buity rings around the rear tails, but mabe they were painted black also and i couldent see them. Even the inside battery door is their which is surprising.
If you want to see a pic of the REPU that i drive every day go to our photo gallery and enter REPU and mine will be the red one that will come up. Its a 74. 4 port 13b that has been ported, but i run stock carb and exhaust.

Nice REPU Mike. I like that fact that you still keep it on the road letting that 13B roar..

Hey, I see that you are/were missing the front marker light on the driver side. I may have one laying around. If you are interested send me a PM and I will look for it.

That looks really nice in light blue. I need to do some body work on mine then I will paint it. Probably back to the original grass green to make it easier.

Yeah, go with stock color if you can. My friend's blue REPU was repainted a lighter shade. At least it's not a completely different color.

I've entertained thoughts of painting mine that really nice Cadillac red. It's got a little hint of purple and no burgandy just like my stock paint does.

Odd, I thought I left a message but it's not here.

Anyhow, it's a 75. I'm curious, how quick are you other REPU owners? At times it almost seems faster than my streetported '83 but I have yet to take it to the local track. They are a bit difficult to compare because the ride is totally different.

Currently I need to smog the truck, which is going to be a pain because it has headers and a straight pipe through up to the muffler. Living in CA also doesn't help.

Rotortuner: the tail light rings actually came with it but I left them off because a couple are pretty tweaked. If I can find a nice straight set I may put them back on.

Tom93R1: thanks that would be great. I went to the local auto yard the other day and found that old B2000's have the same side marker lights so I might be able to go that route. I need both sides actually since someone cut the wires on the passenger side light.

With the gear that is in the back of your truck right now you are probably faster than the 83 at certain speeds.
I have a friend who took his 75REPU out on a small 3/eights paved oval circle track one saturday night here in Ga. a few years back and kicked ***.

At the end of the evening if all the sanctioned racing went smoothly and there was time left over. This track promoter/owner would allow "run wha'cha brung" races.

From a dead stop, they would run 2 at a time once around the track and whoever won would advance.

I saw a then new 300zx scrub the wall hard.

It was sick.

A few street cars went home with dents that night.

Out of 20 or so cars that night that entered guess who sat in the final race?

A lowered 77 big block TransAm and a lowered REPU with 15's and a carbed GSL-SE motor.

The people in the stands were losing their mind cheering for the "loud as hell" mini truck. I think at the time the REPU had a Header/dual pipe/collector/stinger set up. No presilencer, no muffler, just unadulterated raw rotary rasp. Complete with occasional flame.

When they dropped the flag the big block had so much power that it built 2 car lengths on the truck going into the first turn. At the end of turn 2 it was one car length and the REPU was moving to the inside of the track to set up for turn 3 under the TA. Coming out of turn 4 they were side by side. The TA finished half a hood length over the finish line in front of the REPU.

I was classic. If only there had been one more turn. That was all the truck needed.

Any way all that was done on a stock geared 75

Mine is fairly loud, almost intolerable at certain RPMs and has a dual out header into a single 3" pipe which then goes into a muffler. I want to change something to possibly quite it down a bit without losing power.

Any suggestions? I suppose if I lengthen the primaries it will quite it down a little, but probably not much.

I'll look for that extra light I have tomorrow.

as fr my quickness, I have a 6 port motor from an 86 rx7, I have a Weber side draft 48mm carb, stock exhaust manifold, and cheapest manifold-back exhaust the muffler shop could build. The intake roars but there is no sound at all from the exhaust. I bet I could pull another 20HP with a header and muffler upgrade. I also need to get the carb jetted, I run pretty rich now. In the 1/4 a couple months ago I ran a 17.3 @ 79 mph, that was the only run I made. I probably could have managed a 17.0 after some practice. Besides exhaust I want to get a 5 speed rx7 tranny, I think it will be a bit easier to drive as hard as my 2-3 shift is right now.

this thread just gave me the push I need it. I sold my 1988 B-2200 mazda pick up with the 13B turbo charged engine. Man that was and still is a fun truck. Not a REPU but still paying respect to the REPU. i'm going to build a new one right away. I spotted a 1990 B-2200 the proyect begins Ill try to post pics, as I go along..

mods: 13B Fd engine. Ported to the max, home made exhaust manifold, a nice turbo(not sure the size yet) haltech, FD tranny, fmic,3 msd's. SX fuel pump. and the list gets longer. this thread just made it a done deal for me.. Im going to stop fighting my demons and build it. Ill just try to behave(no speeding) like I did with the other one I had..Im lucky in my town a couple of cops know me and i have some PBA cards to get by. I hope this time around I'm better in the sense that I can't control the need for speed..

Hey Judge, you have any pix of your truck?
Were there many traction issues?
Did you do anything with the brakes, like upgrades?
Rear axel?
Any downforce issues?
Anything else that I should be concerned with?

Im going to be starting my project next week hopefully. Usin my '93 b2200 and an '88 N/A engine, so it wont be as fast as your probably was, but it will still be pretty close to triple the amount of power the truck originally had weee!

Triple the power? The trucks had like 110 stock HP. And the NA 88 has like 150 so thats 40 more. Or are you plannning on doing something big to that motor?
