Nice build you have going on there. i was wondering though if you found out if your omp was putting oil into your housings without having it plugged in to the electric. I've got an engine that my 2nd rotor seems to be leaking oil out the exhaust. It's n/a, so i don't have any oil lines or anything like that going there, so i was just wondering if you noticed when you pulled it apart if there might have been oil coming in from the omp ports. Sadly i don't know anything about the cas sensor at the moment. (i've yet to tear down a rotary engine)

Well i decided to just stick in the CAS with the dot lined up to the marking on the CAS. I have to borrow my friends video camera and ill try to start the engine. Engine looks good all painted and everything. Alternator hooked up, microtech working. I cant seem to get my microtech lt10s to work on my new laptop. Im thinking its cause of windows 7?? I need to figure that out to tune.

if you don't have the laptop adapter then you can't hook up to the microtech. that's the only way to do it unless you shelled out for the hand controller.

Yeah this is a nice build! I'd would go with the intercooler, the radiant heat these things put out is amazing and I believe a cooler and consistent fuel shot would help longevity! My 2 cent. I can't wait to hear it barp! Thanks for sharing.

WEll intercooler may be coming soon, we shall see.. I have the dongle and software but it wont connect to my com port rght. I adjusted com ports and everything but no cigar. I will be having my friend come over to see if he can fix it, as a trade I will put some new windows and seals in his vw bug :p I would upload video but as soon as i borrowed the camera, my new fuel pressure regulator came in the mail and now the engine pipes are off the car, secondary fuel rail modified, and injectors given to injector wizard (he does his work in his laboratory in the backyard) haha. Will get them back soon, regulator mounted, needs to be connected to my new fuel rail bung that's welded on to keep ressure at a constant 43 lbs or so even under boost. The reason for the regulator is that at idle and at about 3 grand the engine studders as if cold and vibrates the car. So maybe a fuel issue. SO injectors will be fresh, constant fuel pressure, and microtech will hopefully be up and running to help fix the problem of the studdering. Then break the engine in. First start up was hard, I went a little crazy with petroleum jelly so it kept squirting out the engine plug holes and even fouled my plugs... Majority of smoke is gone, then break in and hopefully the rest of the smoke is gone. Pics soon

LOL, I smoked out the neighbor hood when I first started mine. Between the assemble lube, rich carb jets, two stroke oil, and engine and header paint burning off it looked like a Cali wild fire had passed though. I can't wait to see and hear this thing up and running, should be menacing!

It has been snowing here for the past few days, injectors are back from injector wizard and fuel regulator installed. Just need to make new gaskets and throw the engine back together and see what happens, its just too cold togo in the garage and work on that car :p

Just getting things back together. Put the injectors back in, I have to make a new return fuel line, put the manifolds back on and all the pipes. My dad came up with a great idea for a heater. Our land cruiser uses a heater core with water from the radiator passing through it with a fan to blow the hot air out. I can utilize the same idea with an oil cooler. Ill place the oil cooler in my front trunk connected to the radiator with a a fan on the cooler and shove the hot air down the original bug heater vents. Plu this can offer extra water cooling on a really hot day by turning on the heater if its an emergency. Its almost there. My dad says it should be running by sunday and tuned by monday. Then just throw the interior back together and drive the car.

Yeah definately And thanks.

UPDATE: So the engine is put back together and my new fuel pressure regulator is set at 43 lbs, all gauges working except the boost gauge. The boost guage is reading opposite, it isnt even on the 0, the arrow is lining up with the letters that say boost... Don't know what is going on there. I attempted to start the engine and as soon as it started it reved to the moon at 5 grand. I turned it off, reset some throttle idle screws, still revved to 5 grand. Then I noticed some sensors were hooked up in the wrong places... haha. So now I idles normally once again. Just put some isolation rubber mounts on my fuel pump cause it made a noise that was quite noticeable. Going to fix the water lines a little cause they kind of dangle a little low for street use and speed bumps. Then put the seats back in, make brackets for my harnesses and additional DOT approved lap belts for when the police show up. ;p And then tune the microtech and that should be it. Will get a video posted up once the changes to everything have been made.

Well things have not gone perfectly. The new fuel pressure regulator works fine, but I still get a sputtering issue when trying to give the car some gas. My thought is that for one, i need to be able to tune my microtech, and I am going to change my water temp sensor which was originally placed in a spot where fuel passes through meaning it isnt doing its job. I put it back in the water hole and it revs to the moon. When in the fuel, the microtech wants to do weird things with the fuel mixture to richen the engine.. I think. So I need to know the ohm rating of the water temp sensor. If anyone could help me there or point me towards the right sendor that works well with my microtech unit I'd be happy. Tried to drive the car down the road after getting the seat belts all figured out, and the front bumper with turn signals put on. Wet outside as always, the water pipe slid off, will weld a solid bar around the pipe and then clamp past the round bar welded on the pipe so the pipe wont come off again. Giving it gas the car sputters and shakes so I cant really drive it just yet. I dont really have much of a video to post till I get it running properly unless you guys wanna hear it sputter and shake :p

Need help

I have tried everything I can think of to try and get rid of the studdering and hesitation when accelerating. When revving to about 4 grand the studder occurs and the car won't go above 5 grand even floored. I pulled the spark plugs and they are black from burnt fuel I presume. The only 2 things I can think of that could be wrong is that my furl/air ratios are off and its way too rich, or my timing is off. I will be getting my friend to come over and fix my laptop connection issue to the microtech ecu today or tomorrow. Do you guys have any ideas as t why my 13b is doing this???

WELL: I am frustrated beyond all measure... I broke down and bought the microtech 4 line hand controller and I come to find out the hand controller displays bit and pieces of japanese characters or something. My bug will never run. Now to drive back down to atkins and ask them to test my handset, then send my lt10s microtech to australia to get checked. I'm so fed up with this car. ugh

OKay, atknis gave me a new handset, still didn't work and only showed me wacky symbols on the handset. All of my microtech stuff is going to australia to get checked after the company comes back from holiday on the 17th...

Update

Sorry for no new posts in a while evereyone, been fighting the car to the end it seems. So the car wouldn't rev past 5 k right? Well I contacted the local rotary tuner who puts rotarys in datsun 510's which i see al lthe time here. He told me the microtech is setup with 1 base map to go till 5 k, then he can put another map on to go up to 9 k. He said I needed to get the innovate wideband o2 sensor and gauge. So I picked that up, waiting to calibrate on startup and gauge mounted. Then my Equuus gauges were failing left and right. So I swapped them all out for digital cyberdyne gauges except the fuel and speedo for now. Drove down to atkins bought a microtech handset. Went home and it read gibbereish. Went to atkins got another, same thing. So I sent my lt10s off to microtech-efi.com place ia QLD fedex 2 day air for 100 bucks! Fedex said it was delivered. I called them and they said they hadn't seen it. Told me to call up the microtechefi.com place... I called them they said the microtech dash efi is a deaer site not the oficial. They didnt have my ecu... They gave me a number to the main hub of microtech in sydney. The main hub didnt have it... called the dash place and they had it said it was fixed... Cost me 75 to ship it back kangaroo mail or something haha. No word from them yet if it shipped or not, Just hope its fixed when I get it/if I get it. This whole microtech thing is such a damn hassle I swear. The worst part of it all is that the main hub in sydney told me they dont have a site because things like this happen. WOW. hahaha. Enough ranting, long story short, ecu hopefully fixed and I expect it sometime in the mail or in customs. :p

My spark wires? No, im pretty sure they are correct, setup just like the manual with the orange and yellow wires. I mounted my coilson the rotor housings so Ill have to double check since I cant see them directly. Called microtech, my unit is shipped, hope everything is workin when i get it. Then to calibrate wideband sensor, and tune that bad boy!

So far, the rotary is running pretty good. First startup was a little rough because the water temp was on high because I needed to burp the system to get more water in. Filled the radiator, uncorked a water pipe in the thermostat and filled that. Then everything was good. Drovein the neighborhood to turn it around, reverse needs to be adjusted but it idles great. Will get a video of it during the day once the microtech setup is finished.

Here are some pics and a video of my gauges:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8jxX-qb5sY

Had to weld rings on all the water pipes because the water was blowing off the rubber hoses :p

The car will start and run. Most of the smoke is limited now. The 2 stroke premix is tech dirtbike oil at 100:1 ratio in my gas. But, I think my microtech values are a little out of wack. It idles fine, but anytime I try to rev, the engine dies immediately. Anyone have some advice on values to change on my lt10s?
