Rib case Trannies

I have four trannies that have a slightly different bell housing. The starter is still down below, but the timimng hole is different from the Rx3. I believe these are from and Rx4 (since I got two of them with 13Bs). None of the trannies come with shifters and I can’t find a spare in my shop to see if they are 4 or 5 speed.

All of these trannies came from an old Mazda racer who raced Rx3 in the seventies and an Rx7 in the eighties. He pulled them from good running cars and stored them in his shop. There is no warranty on them but I believe that they are in great shape. Most of these pieces were pulled 15 to 20 years ago and have just sat in the shop. One has a marker on it that indicates that it was pulled around January of 1980.

I have received many emails from my ads, and I will respond to folks in the order that I received your emails. I should have photos of them tomorrow night. The trannies weight 67 pounds each, but we better figure on 70 pounds for shipping because they will need something around them. The cost of the shipping prep depends on how much protection you want for the tranny. I am located in Olympia WA, 98502 so you can check UPS from Olympia. I have a PayPal account on my email, but we can talk about other options as well.

Please let me know if you are still interested and have any other questions.

PS - I have photos, but I do not have any luck posting them on the forum.

Several look kinda like stock REPU 4 speeds. I wish I had the money.

Hey, do you know where the throwout bearing lever arm things are? Sorry, the name escapes me.

Those appear to be all 4 speeds because the 5 speeds that came out of the cosmos had an extra section after the main ribcase. What do you want for them anyways?

Jeff, how can you tell if they are REPU as opposed to an Rx4?
13Bnos, I am selling them for $150 each plus shipping. It is good to know the 5 speeds had an extra section. I was told they look alike and you had to check with a shifter if they had a 5th gear.

ur right, just went and looked at the 5spd i have and those r definately 4spd. those would be excellent for drag car or weekend street racer that'll never see the interstate.

The 4-speeds have better gear ratios for autocrossing.

Watch out for weak synchros when shifting quickly.
