That is an Edelbrock Performer series 600cfm. I'll throw it on after the engine is broken in a little.

That's what I'm not so sure about this time. It's because I have access to a Camden. They don't care what port timing you've got going on, as long as it's not too big or too small. Folks have had success on stock ports right up to a bridgeport. The SC mixes the air and fuel so well you can have some really crappy ports and it will idle like a stocker.

The picture above of all the torn down engines isn't the full story. I've got other dead plates and housings lurking around the corner. It's nuts. They're either water damaged, overheated or just plain worn out. I was lucky to get one set of R5 plates with very little step wear.

I must choose between R5 plates or Y plates. Hmm... R5 is a thicker heavier casting. It's going in a truck. It's getting boosted. Engine weight isn't an issue. It's going in a truck. Did I mention it's going in a truck?

R5 plates lack an oil pressure sender hole (you SA22C guys know what I'm talking about) but I have an RB oil pressure and temp thing for the filter pedestal so I'm fine. Or I could drill and tap the rear plate, but that's not fun. RB temp sender it is. It's version 1 in case you're wondering. I'm going old school!

That is quite the pile of engine parts. Guess I really got lucky finding the 3B engine for my Rx-4.

All these REPU owners are coming out of the woodwork. I didn't know you had one. You should make a thread. I'm trying to encourage PercentSevenC to make a thread showcasing his '74. He's busy with school.

Hey I still have two more engines to tear down before I'll know for sure whether I'm using these R5 plates or not.

Yup. Here is a peek.

I should make a thread, but it's been on the backburner so I don't have alot to add.

The camper isn't sticking aaround for the long haul, but it does make a handy place to keep spare parts.

This is pretty much my worst rust, just above the battery box.

Body line shot.

400 grit wet or dry paper. If they're really long I carefully trim them on a bench grinder. Then final adjustments with a hand file. I pieced together this set from several engines. Some are brand new and some are good used. Clearances range from .001 to .003. I had one pesky one that was about a .005". None of my seals fit so I may have to get a new one and deal with it.
