Repu for sale?
The production figures can be a bit tricky.
1974 <-- the largest production run, most didnt sell
1975 <-- most of the 75s that are actually 74s that never sold. They added a digit to the Vin and voila, it was a 75. Perhaps there were a few made just for 75.
1976 <-- The 76s would technically be the most rare, but nothing sets them apart from the 74 or 75 model year
1977 <-- 3000 produced, I am almost certain, discontinued after poor sales. 4 inch longer cab, redesigned battery box, and a 5 speed was optional. The 4.62 rear was changed to more freeway friendly gearing. Side view mirror was square. Door panels were completely different.
Word was that mazda had alot of these sitting around for a long time. There is an old guy in SD with a low mile original he says he purchased new in 1980 and had a story behind it. I just havent had a chance to follow up on it, but I heard it from a reliable source.
