I've got some nice KYB gas-a-just shocks in my GLC that will be getting a rotary conversion. They work really well. They should work well in an Rx-3 they are a lot shorter and much stiffer than stock. I could find out the part number if you wanted, otherwise wackyracer's idea is good - go for konis and you can't go wrong.

I got my KYB's second hand for ~$20 and they're in mint condition.

Keep the rear softer than the front if you still want to go around corners
