Rear louvers on SP

Anyone know if I need some kind of special key to open the stock rear louvers on an SP?

I am not sure what you mean by open. I am 99.9% sure the rear louvers are attached to the body, and or rear window, and that they don't open, but rather you can remove them if you want. If you are talking about the louvers on the side rear windows I also believe they are fixed, and the rear windows don't roll down on the SP models, but I could be wrong.

Through the rear window I can see a stick to hold them up and on the outside it looks like 2 nuts on the bottom which a key can fit in and its hinged on the top of the louver.

you don't need a key, just a flat head screwdriver.just unscrew the slots at each corner at the bottom of the louvers, then lift at from the bottom up,that little rod that you see will hold the louvers up for cleaning etc.i would take some pics to show you but i need a new cord to upload pics.i hope this helps.

He is correct in how they are opened, if you haven't opened them in a long time or ever ensure that you spray them with lubricating oil first and let it sit for awhile this will help prevent marring the surface or stripping the screw
