Wink R100 LOOKING PICK-UP(1200) 1971 year

Are the 1200 mazda pick-ups worth anything? If anybody knows anything about them, please send me a message. I found one and have never seen anything like it before. Very cute little truck.... very small too

Never seen one in person, but yeah they're quite rare. I miss my 1200 (car) already. From the pics I have seen the front ends look the same.. it's like a R-100/1200 with a pickup bed attached.

I want it!

This truck looks just like that red truck pic.'s Except it has factory paint and the priginal 1200.... wish it was a real R100 though... It really stopped me cold!!!!Tail-lights are the coolest thing.... I would convert it and maybe shorten the bed to make it look exactly like the R100.... went back to take pic.s and the guy was at lunch... going back later today again...

what should I pay for it? HELP

it's mostly all there, like I said it's a driver.... the guy is open to selling it to me, it needs a bench seat, has buckets in it, and of course the factory paint will need refreshing.... VERY RETRO...
the kind of little truck nobody else would ever have!!@!! I'm excited!!! Picked up a little 84 gs today also, with a newer motor (16K miles) need door panels...

The guy with the truck thought my ORANGE SP was an rx2, whew.... then I new he didn't care if his truck was a MAZDA or a toyota....

FUNNY DAY, so far....

I've got one of these out at the farm

Its like this, you sit in the driver's seat and you reach over and adjust the rh os mirror without leaving your seat--yeah its small. Stock with 12 inch 5 hole tires, windshield, fenders, doors and hood would probably interchange with r100. Unlike the r100 it does have a complete frame. Mine has a rusty floor. My plan was to put replace it with one from an rx7 so you would have the correct transmission tunnel.

These little trucks are SOOO rare here in the States. I believe these were imported for just 1 year(1971) and primarily only in the northwest section of the country. These may be the rarest of any Mazda imported here and probably the cheapest model sold also( $1745). I have posted a photo of an original 1200PU to compare with the photos that Bern posted. It looks like the R100 grille, fenders and bumper interchange easily on the 1200. The hood looks to be 1200 (unlouvered). By all means, buy if you can!

Thumbs up

OK, OK, OK.... I didn't get out to see the truck today, but now I'm feeling like crying, that is a great picture of this truck.... were they all the same red color... It must be really really really rare, as I have had a crap load of mazda's over the last 20 years, and not until this week have I ever heard of or seen a lil mazda truck from 71.
I will buy it tomorrow if he'll sell it....he says it's getting 35 -38 mpg, so he likes it with the price of gas being close to 2.60 a gallon in Yakima. Hope he drives it...

How much should I offer.... HELP AGAIN.........

Is it rarer, or more valuble then my ORANGE SP? Is it worth more than the R100 that just sold(NON-RUNNING) on E-Bay for 3875.00? Any others for sale out there? Any parts around at all. Guess I could see if he wants to trade for my REPU, as his only complaint about the R100(1200) was smacking the side of his head everytime he gets in the lil truck. Lucky for me, he's to big for this little thing. will send pics, if he drives it.....later

Hard to say.. I sold my '71 1200 (car) on eBay for $3800 awhile back, pretty much bone stock. The truck is more rare, so I'd imagine it would be worth more, but you never know.. seems the old school Mazda cars are generally worth more. Parts, I'd say good luck. Most auto parts places won't even have a listing for it. I tried finding a clutch slave cylinder for my 1200 for months and had to finally give up and adapt one from another car to fit it. Some 1200/R-100 parts may be swappable though, but those aren't exactly easy to find either.

I wonder how the leg room is? I know it sucks in the REPU.. heh
