keep the old school as it is very unique and no need to deal with smog. Besdies, old school comes in many flavors.

R100 and a 3rd gen

I would not sell your R100. It took me a long time to find one myself.
You could always finance a third gen. So you could enjoy the old with new.
That is just my feelings on your question.

Everybody has a 3rd gen, they're hardly unique. How many have an old school rotary let alone a R100???

+1 I would try hard 2 keep the r100 if I was u, I was thinkin the same thing with sellin my 84 stock -se to fund a rx8 but I decided otherwise since a stock se is somewhat hard 2 come by now for the price I got it for, so keep your r100 an try an figure out a way 2 finance or whatnot

Mannnn! There shouldn't even be a dilemma between the two. There's no if ands or buts about it. Definitely keep the R100. You could always swap-out a 12A or 13B into it if worse comes to worse when your 10A takes a ****.
As for as the 3RD Gen. FD, they're a dime a dozen at this time and era. A friend of mine just bought a decent one for 7G's.
If you're hurtin' for funds, just finance it and eventually it'll get paid-off and you will have the best of both worlds... A vintage classic R100 for the weekends and a modern FD for the weekdays!

Just my 2 cents.

BTW, how did it go with your back and/or back surgery?
I hope all went well.

Peace-out!

Vintage Goes Up

Hello,

The R100 will only go up in value. Third gen are only going down (at least for the next 25 years). How many R100's do you see vs a third gen. Will you ever be able to buy another R100 vs being able to buy another third gen in a few years. If the 10A scares you swap in another and keep it aside or, start looking for a spare 10A. I am sure you could find one. Keep it ready. Vintage Mazda's are getting harder to come by and finally going up in price to where they should be. Collectors are finally taking note rather than just us rotor heads. The R100 even more so as its the first American Mazda and rare. Old school is cool. you will hate yourself for it later on. I am sure the R100 is not your daily driver so wait a couple of more years and get a third gen to mess with then, they will be much cheaper. As for your R100, what do you think it will be worth in another two years, then four....?

Finally, if you do want to sell I'd love to get my RX4 a cousin so put me in line, seriously.

But do keep it because I'd have to sell it back to you in a few years for a lot more than I paid for it.

Now if this post looks a mess, sorry I'm doing this on my Palm Treo and it not the easiest.

Keep the R100

Regards

Max

Satisfaction

I failed to mention. I know you think you don't get much satisfaction by using it only everyother week but think of how much enjoyment and satisfaction you must have when you do drive it. I am sure that would be more than using a third gen daily.
Oh. and post some pics of your R100. I love to see them.

Regards

Max

Hello

By all means no dissrespect to the newer Rotary's but you would not get that many heads turning on a 3rd gen car. I love all rotary's but lately have a special interest in old school cars. Vintage is cool and in. Glad for you your keeping it sad for all of us who wnated to buy it.
For the pictures are you using a Mac or PC? If PC use photo shop or image writer and select edit image on the right side there should be options to resize the image. I use a Mac but if I recall thats how you do it on a PC. Please noone start with the Mac vs PC posts. We can meet on another forum for that. Keep this Rotary related.
