question for people with turbo 13b in there rx3
im going to be using the t2 engine and tranny in my rx3, i was planning on using a 83 gsl rear end ,do i need to take the t2 drive shaft and have it modded to fit the gsl rear end or is it cheaper to just get a custom driveshaft made?

you'll need a custom drive shaft no matter which way you go. the spline on the gsl wont match the t2 tranny. Youll need a yoke from the t2 tranny and have it made to fit what ever rear end your going with. Also you cant use the rx3 drive shaft on the gsl rear end, the flange wont match.
Heads up on the tranny there's a few issue that I came accross with when using the t2 tranny, one is the tranny is longer that means the shifter is pretty much next to the parking bake handle. The way to get around this is to shorten the tail end "13btnos" explained how you can shorten your tail section I also posted some pictures on how it looks after I had shorten the tail section. The other is the tranny mount, you'll have to fab something to mount the tranny. I made a new mount using the t2 rubber bushing. and last (ok 3 issue) is the tunnel, it wont fit the tunnel with out shaving the two bolt pilars on both side. What I've done is shave the pilar and weld a new plate so that its strong enough to hold the tranny when bolted in.
hope this help
