Project bridgeport 616 coupe

Well, I bought the famous 616 RX2 coupe from Rene at RMS. This car as many of you know had a turbo 3 rotor in it tearing up the streets. Rene has since passed it on to me to give it some TLC. I bought it with now motor and no transmission as I cant afford a 3 rotor combo right now. I'm going to build the car as a daily driver. I'm in the process of building a 13b bridgeport motor and will run a 4 barrel Holley for now and then eventually go efi or turbo, if racer money permits. LOL
Will be using TII transmission. Interior is all original and in decent condition considering it has been sitting for a long time. The front seats were trash as you can see in these pics. I have already had both front seats re upholstered and they turned out really nice. Rear seat has some minor tears in the top and the rear headliner is torn but for now I'm going to concentrate on getting it running first and then the cosmetics later. This will be a pretty fast build as I'm trying to get the car running to drive to Sevenstock and maybe JCCS. Heres some before and after pics.

Forgot to add that Rene has done a lot of chassis/suspension upgrades already. It has Tokiko lowered coilover struts and neopreme bushings. It also has a front and rear sway bar and front and rear disc brakes and GSL-SE limited slip third memeber.

They are very rare and originally came with a 4 cylinder piston engine.

Engine porting done, engine ready for assembly. Should have long block done by this week. Here's a couple pics and a picture of my side seal tool I use to grind down the side seals- works really good.

Thats how some people clearance the side seals..... actually, its the best way because you maintain the proper angle

Yeah, this tool is used to clearance the side seals. It is much faster than doing it by hand on a flat surface and sand paper. It basically cuts the time in half and leaves a more precise fit.

im assuming the rotor is just used as a jig for the side seal clearancing process and they have no use beyond that function. kind of a smart idea.
