power to ignition coils???

I have a 73 Rx2, been having a problem for awhile, I think it has a wiring issue of some sort, It only has 6 volts of power when the ignition is turned on to the coils, is that correct?? the car still has the original 12a twin dizzy motor in it, if its not suppose to be 6 volts, does anyone know what could be the problem? Any help I greatly appreciate. Thanx in advance

Being it's stock, it's still probably using ballast resistors in series before the ignition coils. This will take the voltage down. Not sure if it takes it down to 6V though.
