do you have the RB road-race header?
IF so, get a collector/pre-muff from ISC racing..
Custom bend 3" to the rear where you can mount a 3" in/3" out Dynomax 6" OD can.
yeilds a really deep tone, not too loud.
STAY away from LONG primary set-ups.
KILLS what little low-end you may have, flatens mid-range.. high RPM band is AWESOME..
ALSO.. long primary systems are inherently louder than shorter primary set-ups.

Are you saying that the short primary system: KILLS what little low-end you may have, flatens mid-range.. high RPM band is AWESOME.. ??

I ordered the mufflers for the car today. I'm going to cut the header and run dual 2 1/4 inch piping off the primarys to a single 18 inch bullet muffler for each rotor. Then I will have a 2-1 collector made and finish it off with a 3 inch piping 14 inch magnaflow muffler. I'm hoping to get a mellow yet aggressive tone from the car that isn't deafning. If this doesn't work then I guess I will have to live with it because I'm not about to spend the money again.

Really? I've got a very similar setup on my Carina and it's very quite at idle and had a deep tone when on the pipe. I was told that 3 inch would be best on exit to keep the temp down. Damn this is kinda sucking now.

Just kidding. you will get use to it. My RX-3 is rolling on dual 2.25 into a 3" magnaflow; 24" glasspacks per pipe which only last about 2 days with my driving habit. I like it so I have no plan on replacing the glasspacks yet.

I guess I can only try it see if I like it right?
Hey one more question for you guys. I switched my RX-4 suspension for GSL-SE front suspension and brakes. Now the car sits too damn low. If I change the springs to regular GS springs will it bring the car up? I need about 2 inches. I heard the GSL-SE had shorter springs and the springs that were with these struts had no tension on them at all. Meaning then slip and flopped around til the car got weight on them. I was thinking that should get me close to the two inches I need if I find a set of longer springs. What can I do?

So I got the exhaust done today. I love it. The sound is pretty mellow and throaty. Not the typical sound I've heard come from these engines. But the real surprise is how quick the damn car is. I can't believe it. It would easily beat out all the toyota's I've owned to include the RA21 I just sold. This car is a blast to drive. I'm afraid to drive it too much right now because I don't have a temp guage hooked up. I'd hate to overheat it and kill the engine, but I want to drive it. I'm going to get a new thersmostat and drive it to a cruise that is going on here in Rancho Cucamonga.

couple pictures of the car as it sits now. I dropped in a 79 Celica Supra rearend and it is the exact same width as the RX-4 rear. The e-brake cable swapped right over as well and uses the factory lever and all. I couldn't have asked for anything more. So I just need to get the drive line made and wire up the motor and it should be back on the road.

A day late and a dollar short as they say. I tried to finish the car in time for the R&R meet on saturday, but thanks to mechanical error I didn't finish the car til today. Either way it's back on the road and doing better then every. I can't believe the power difference in the car going from the stock 13b to a bridge 13b. The car is amazing and I am very pleased with my decision to stick it out and get the damn thing running again. Thanks again to everyone that helped me get up to speed on the workings of the rotary engine. After driving this thing around a little tonight I'm sold on Rotary Power!!!
I want to go out and drive it right now, but pullling into the driveway at midnight I already woke the old lady and the neighbor. HA HA. They're going to hate this car.

The exhaust is a long primary setup with a Racing Beat header going to two dynomax bullet 18 inch mufflers. They Y-Pipe into a 3 inch pipe and then go into a Magnaflow stainless steel 3 inch muffler. The setup wakes the friggin dead with the bridgeport. I was nice and mellow with the stock motor, but now it's quite loud.

I'm the only one with a car older then 1997, and that's only because my neighbor next to me uses a 1997 Hyaundai to commute with. Other then that all the cars in my neighborhood are 2000's and above. But other then that all the cars fit and no one complains about the quantity. Just the noise.

very nice... you guys in cali are very lucky, we have no old school in canada..... i dont see what all the noise complains are about, my 83 has a rb race header, with a custom y-pipe to a single rice boy muffler, and i swear, it sounds as loud as a civic with only a performance muffler....
