Good point! I even forgot about the heavier rotating mass, longer e-shaft, etc when considering the possible redline. I don't know how much of an effect this will have on it though. My bet is that the redline will be at least as high as the RX-8's 9k redline. When Mazda came out with 20B engines they were able to keep the same redline as the 13B engines they were based off without upgrading internal parts very much.
That got me thinking, and I will have to agree that they might keep it a stock 9k redline. I'm pretty sure they won't lower it, I don't see why it would need to be. The wider rotors should really help the low end torque, or actually the overall torque. The renesis already comes with a near perfect torque "curve" so just adding more across the entire range would be pretty sweet!
For those unfamiliar with this, the Renesis makes 90% of it's torque as low as 3000rpm, and the peak torque is at 7,500rpm,

All I'm hoping for is that Mazda keeps the formula of a "true sports car" for it's next 7. Nothing watered down or sporty/touring like the 350Z.

Plus you have to admit a 10,000rpm redline would just be f'ing awesome

I forgot the Renesis makes 90% of its torque as low as 3000rpm. Man, that engine would be pretty good in a truck; especially with even larger rotors.
