For brakes, go to respeed.com and you can fit GSL rear discs to your axle. A 81-83.5 LSD will also drop into your pumpkin (NOT a GSL-SE - you have to find one with threaded holes on the input flange. Check for 81-83 with rear discs and take that chunk!!). Scott's Old Auto Rubber (www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au) in Australia is the only real source for new bushings, door moldings, bailey channels (the felt inlays that your glass slides up and down on) and stuff like that. You can copy the old Racing Beat Stage 1 kit (talk to ReSpeed again for those) to slightly relocate your front sway bar so it won't induce a caster change under cornering. There are no straightforward front brake upgrades yet, but you can do it with enough motivation.

And yeah, post some pics.

I have a front brake upgrade kit on my 72 RX3. All new aluminum hubs, 4 piston aluminum calipers, and large drilled rotors. TheRacingStore.com sells them. Call Tony. Bolts right on.

gsgle carbed ned answers

so i have a few questions about my motor setup. I was replacign a alternator belt yesterday and i noticed that on the distributer there are two little vacume things wich i think are for vacume advance of the spark but there not hooked up.

so here is the setup its a gslse engine with a 12a 4 barrel carb on it (i think 12a it looks like the carb on my brothers 84 gs.)
now i already think the setup is wrong because its a smaller carb on a bigger motor so i was thinking about either getting a holly or getting the nikki carb sent and made into a sterling carb. So what do i do about the advance on th 13b motor.? does it need to be vacume advanced or does it need to be electronically advanced?

and as far as the carb goes what should i get and what size ,its stock ported and it has a racing beat header and full exhaus.

thanks tyler

Sterling would actually be a good guy to ask about jetting a Nikki for a 13B. The advance mechanism only advances the timing under vacuum, and hence is for street driving and off-idle performance. Most folks just disconnect it, set the advance for high-rpm, and let it sputter a little at low-speed. If you want to hook up the advance diaphragms go for it, but most people don't. RX-4, RX-5 and REPU had 13Bs with Hitachi or Nikki carbs (depending on the years) so it's possible that you have a 13B carb, but there are bazillions of 12A Nikkis, so it will probably need to be rejetted. Carl and Sterling to great jobs with carbs, so I'd refer you to them for a Nikki.
