Yea same here, if it was out I was just going to modify the housing and then get custom shafts made. I want to run FC 4 piston brakes and 5x114.3 bolt pattern anyway so I would need either Re-Speed shafts or custom ones anyway.

Measure from the outside of one hub to the same spot on the other hub.

Well in between working, running a home business and chasing after 2 kids I found some time to do a little grinding in the interior.

Ok folks my Rx-4 is going to the body shop very soon (as soon as there is an opening in his schedual) I am having trouble trying to figure out a color.. now I have never played with photoshop so I dont know how hard it is but can some one photoshop some colors onto my blank rx-4 pics..... This would really help out Thanks.
These are just two colors that have caught my eye.. I was originally looking for a real dark charcoal mettalic grey but I cannot find a good picture of what I am looking for

Yeah I have pics but I want to debut it at seven stock in a couple of years once its all done. Nothing crazy with my car just my prefreance. Trying to get that best old school and in my mind it will help if nobody has seen it before. See how I said my mind? I like the grey your talking about. I was also thinking of the dodge plum crazy purple...I think thats the name of the color.

I've always had the idea of putting down a fairly dark metallic silver base and then laying down a bunch of candy red overtop of it. Would look like a really deep dark red but would have the silver glimmer when light hits it. Not sure how well that would work in real lifer, but that was my idea anyway.

I'm thinking of a medium/dark metallic blue for the Repu as the drag car is fire engine red. That orange sure would stand out. I love the bright colors like they paint everything in OZ

Wacky can you post pics of the front and back of your rx-4 so I can see what you have done with the mounting holes for the crappy bumperettes.

if you're referring to the empty slots on the bumper, you can cover them with chrome buttons. I've used the ones from older datsun 210s. They are free at the junkyards.

No I see you still have the frame sticking out where the bumperettes were... I have seen the front ends of some where the frame has been cut or something to smooth out that area

Another option would be to weld the holes shut and either paint the bumpers or have them rechromed. I took all of the trim and crap off of my rx-4 bumpers, welded the holes and just painted them. On you're car though I'd keep them chrome. The first gen Rx-4's are beautiful with the bumpers chromed. Second gen bumpers are just plain ugly, that's why I painted mine so they blend in. The chrome buttons are also a good inexpensive option if you're bumpers are still in good shape. If they need to be rechromed anyway, might as well fill the holes in.

Ah, now I see what you mean. You'd have to remove that piece frome the frame rail (pretty sure it has to be cut if I remember right), and then fabricate filler panels onto the bumper and lower valence.

Scratch that, I just looked on my car. Those bumper shock boxes should unbolt from the frame. There are about 4 or 5 different bolts/nuts that hold it on, but it should unbolt. You'll still have to make some sort of filler panel for that area though.

Same here, that bar is a structural part of the chassis. The bumper brackets bolt to that bar from what I can see on my car.

Ok, that is completely different from my car. That is something they changed for the '76 redesign I guess.
