New project - Familia r100
r100
my biggest question is would it be better just to keep replacing the old parts with newer after market parts or go back original? Heres some pics of where it was second pic is of the interior with the wooden steering wheel on the right hand side last pic is of me towing it home. Everytime I ask someone information about parts all they tell me is am I selling it . It also has square headlights and unique enmblems on the car. I had a feeling there was something special about this car

The RHD version are actually a little easier to get parts for than the LHD IMO. They usually have stuff available on ebay from New Zealand or the Aussies as those cars are fairly popular there. Finding parts for the North American version is a bit of a different story. The main thing is you will have to decide what direction you want to take with the car. Going modified is always easier than restoring something back to stock because you can basically do whatever you want. The only limit is your skill and imagination. Good luck with the project. Looks like you have a really nice car to start with. Looking forward to seeing this car being built.

You are very funny ORANGESP !! Its good your wife likes your r100. My wife tells me everyday how ugly this car is. Do you have any pics of your r100? I have been debating what color to have it painted. I have been leaning towards a deep pure black and polishing all the emblems and moldings maybe some polished aluminum or chrome wheels.
First thing I would do is track down a set of original interior door panels and retrim the seats in all black vinyl as whoever did those trims/seats should be shot. If you cant find original 14" R100 steel wheels I would find Rx2-3 stock 13" steel wheels with new chrome beauty rings to set the exterior right. At least make the interior/exterior clean and original and then do whatever you like with the engine trans. Just remember an rx-7 12A will make this thing pretty damn quick but still enjoyable/driveable. Good luck and keep us posted
I'm afraid to see what will be left of the car after it's blasted. Once I get my own shop where I can place the body on a fixture of some sort then I'll get it blasted and start at it. For now all I can do is try and finish my other projects.
yep it came from B.C., Canada, 4 months to get the title...Major PIA!
most people hate the three taillights, they are memorable, but one guy I bought parts from in B.C. had seen it in person for sale a couple years ago.. makes it easy to Identify...
