Fuel Tank
Looking at the fuel tank today. I haven't seen this on any other build threads but I was thinking maybe the cheapest easiest way for me might be to mount stock s5 fuel tank in the trunk.

Hey man, no I'm American from LA. I'm a permanent resident in Australia. My wife and I live in the southern suburbs. I'm in LA right now for few more weeks. I'm trying to make as much progress on the rx-3 as possible before I go back.

That would be cool! That car paid for my wedding rings and I can tell that it was worth selling the car as I'm still happily married. I'll stop cluttering your thread now and your can get back to working on the RX3 good luck and hope to see it back on the road sometime soon.

Timing cover
Timing cover, does anyone know the purpose of the hole under the omp? I was thinking about drilling it through and tapping threads for a AN 10 fitting.

Yeah man, like starting at 2 grand plus they're in Australia. Shipping would be hundreds. I think it would be cheaper to have someone here fab something similar. Or I could buy a TIG welder and Fab myself. Thanks for suggestion but I don't think I'll go that route this time.

Well my plan to install the rx-7 gas tank does not involve any cutting. I was/might just strap the tank down the same way I've seen many aftermarket fuel cells installed. The filler neck actually aligns with rx-3 filler. I prefer to use OEM parts when possible (I know often not possible when aiming for high horsepower). I also prefer in-tank over external fuel pumps.

Yeah, I watched that episode where he (Aaron Cake) modified stock gas tank for in tank fuel pump setup. I like what he did. I have a stock tank. One problem with the stock rx-3 tank is that it does not have very much flat area on the top because the seem runs vertical and its small. I looked tanks inc. as well but setup is too big to use without major modification. I'll figure something out on it. I do like the idea of mod-ing the stock tank.

Set the motor in
Well got the motor set in. Turbo housing is hitting the frame rail. There is actually a dent in the frame rail from before. I think the previous owner had a s4 TII in there. So I'll have to deal with that. I really don't want to change the exhaust manifold. I think that the first thing that I might try is different motor mounts. I've got a range of mounts from 47mm thick to 32mm.
