MSD mystery

1973 rx3 with a '85 13b swap. msd 6AL boxes and blaster 2 coil. Ultra spark plug wires. new cap and rotor, new plugs. spark to all rotors. BUT on the trailing wire from the coil to dizzy, is arcing at the coil. i switch the Trailing and the Leading wires and still arcing on the Trailing side. it cant be the boxes or the coils becuz it follows the trailing wire. i cant figure it out. and it arcs at all engine speeds. i ohmed out everything and its good. i checked every spark plug and they all spark. i have no idea where there is a GAP or resistence in the circuit. i dont know it this is a common problem but plz help.

thank you

Might not be much help but power always follows the path of least resistance so somewhere in your system there is a high resistance spot . Or if you think about it the other way there is a spot that is maybe oily or a drop or two of brake fluid maybe .. If there has been a battery problem and acid was spilled , high voltage power will be attracted to that spot like ducks to water . I'm guessing that there is a film of something on your high tension system at the point of the arc . Use some kind of spray cleaner that leaves no residue , clean the inside of the boot and wire also. lots of spray lubs etc. get on everything when used and can cause problems . Gerald m.
