If you new anything about the mini's, you would know that they are front wheel drive. There is also a difference from the minis and the coopers. One of the most hard to come by minis is the mini pickup.

Here is a photo of the motor bay, now tell me what car that is rear wheel drive has the 4 cylinder side ways like that?

You must have been thinking about the morris minor, something like this http://www.minimania.com/ClassDetail.cfm?ID=3172

Minis are Front wheel drive

They also have the gearbox under the engine in the sump so a transmission adapter is not really an option

good luck finding a mini van or a mini pickup , they are very rare in the UK let alone in the US

I would like to see a mini body go for that cheep. Good luck finding a cooper too, you might have better luck just looking for a mini. I know where I can get one, doesn't run, will cost me close to 3k for it. It’s a 72 mini 1000.

Minis are FWD, That is how they got there fame in the rally days of yore. They did well because every other car during that time was rear wheel drive. They were ahead of the curve.

IN the Kit Car magazine a while back. someone took the 1st gen mr2, supercharged and adapted a fiberglass mini body to it. It was a wide body mini and looked totally badass.

Down here in NZ there is a Mini that used to race with a 12A might have been a bridge port - not too sure but went hard and sounded great.
Was FWD on mini or similar gearbox via an adaptor plate.

Hey liquid and bigblockchevy. I see you guys are in Wisconsin.

Why the =(? Rotaries ARE hard to come by here, but it's not THAT bad...

Now, I'd love to help out with you're little "project", but I'm only 14 and doubt I'd be any help.

I can't find any info, I know they put the rotary on top of the mini gearbox and used drop gears. I like that idea. I want mine to be FWD and have a gearbox which sounds like an angle grinder!! I will post something if I can find it.

Citereon (check my spelling). Double helical cut gears. Better than helical cut, similar to straight cut only quieter. Hard to make.
