Yeah I picked this up for 2 grand,I thought it wasn't bad considering it was running.right now I have some guy fixing a dent it has by the fuel filler door and going to buff it out to see if the paint shines a little more.I got some bbs rs rims that I might get redrilled so I can put them on.

For my other rx2 project I just need 3 major things, get the rear end shortened, paint the car,and a microtech or maybe a haltech don't know yet which to choose.but I havnt drove a rotary since my last orange rx2 sedan, which has been about 8 months now, besides driving friends cars.but I just had to get this because I couldn't go any longer without driving my own rotary.but we will see how the car looks once I get it back from my friend,he is taking a dent out and buffing out the paint so it can look a little better.

So recently I almost gave up on this car and was deciding to sell it.a few of my friends talked me into keeping it and so I decided to freshen up the engine bay and change a few gaskets on the engine cause it was leaking a lot of oil from the front cover gasket.so I pulled the motor out and I'm going to be putting in a new front cover gasket, oil pan gasket, intake manifold gasket, and for now I'm keeping the stock carb but will do mechanical secondarily instead of the stock vacuum operated.here are some pics I took while taking it apart.

Once I'm done doing this the next thing I'm going to do is install front and rear 71-73 smaller rx2 bumpers, which I bought a few weeks ago.

Engine bay came out clean...

You decided to keep it or is still for sale? Saw some for sale ads on this cute little ride on craigs list and here on the forum...Either way she looks really good...

I got a friend that will be see some of wackys junk this saturday May 14th, he's in the market for a little project...Let me know if your still considering selling this car, we would like to see it in person if that is the case...

Teddy...

Not for sale anymore,I decided to keep it just cause its a 74 and is rare.I havnt seen any roaming around los angeles maybe I will be the only one,I have heard of least 2 of them being kept in garages but not registered and running the streets.with all this labor and work im doing to it I just can't let it go anymore,I tried a few times on craigslist and people would lowball me after I had posted it for 2k or some people would set a appointment to come see the car and would flake out and just waste my time. I sure wasn't taking a loss and I sure wasn't hurting for cash either anyways I'm keeping it for sure and I will keep updating the thread as progress goes.

Cleaned up and degreased the engine today and primed it up so it can be ready for paint.I initially wanted to just clean it but the irons looked to much of a rusty color so thats why I decided to paint.I'm painting the irons a cast iron color and leaving the rotor housing alone with the natural aluminum color.

I love this logo and how its casted into the iron.

Hey there! When you cleaned up the engine bay did you get rid of all those ugly wires? I attempted this once and ended up with a bigger mess. I was wondering what your approach is to it...

The harness I havnt touched yet, once I put the engine back on I will clean it up a bit and remove all the unecessary wires and clips.done it plenty of times and I'm also good with wiring diagrams so it shouldn't be much of a problem.

Turns out the original radiator was clogged so I had to get another one and got it mounted already,I also made some brackets for the oil cooler cause before it was hanging there.

I also put a fc water pump housing and water pump.

I also made a block off plate for the top of center iron and for the side of the intake manifold.

Worked a little on the rx2 the other day and wired up the coils and put a s5 alternator on it,also shortened fc spark plug wires so they look nice and clean and not super long.
