If I am not mistaken, I think the coils are powered from the ignition switch (thats how the glc was) Follow it backwards to the key, it has to be between the key and the coils. Hope this helps. Nice car btw...always been a fan of the rx4!

Nice find, I hope your patient... unless your luckey you won't be able to find the parts u need in any quick manor. I been gathering bits and peices for mine for three years to finally get to starting point of the restoring process. Some stuff from Japan some from Austrailia . I will keep my eyes open for ya.
The car looks like it's worth saving.

No ignition relay on a RX-4. That wiring diagram looks nothing like my Mazda diagrams. Try the manuals and diagrams here. My guess would be dirty or damaged contacts in the ignition switch or a loose connection between the trigger wire and the starter.

Nice find, your motor in the first gen is similar to what I have in my 74 RX4 now. I have been looking for a windshield for some time...if you find a extra one let me know and I will do the same. I was in the springs this weekend and was wondering where the rotaries were!

Look around and find a few that look like decent establishments, go in and talk to the manager and get a feel for him/her. Usually a body shop has a photo album of work they have done and dont hesitate to ask for a reference from someone who has had work done there before. From there you should be able to make a good decision on what shop to go with.
After looking at your pics it seems as though you have rust in the same spots I did. Check your frame all around the steering box. Water builds up there and seeps into the frame through the steering bolts. Pull the rocker stripping off and take a look at your rockers and torque boxes.
