Can someone please ban Teddy from starting endless threads again or give him limited access to say 1 or 2 posts per thread.

+1.... Or how about not starting another thread until the first one is completed and finished...... Pushing car across the garage doesn't count as finished.

Hey Teddy did you manage to find everything you needed to rebuild your motor?
I know rebuilding these old donks is not cheap, and the price of a later model engine conversion can look really attractive too.
Try and keep it original if you can.
My old 12a in my 74 RX-4 lasted almost 8 years of constant drag racing before it started to smoke.
My 40 year old rotary engine in my luce has never been rebuilt and is still going strong on 6mm carbon apex's.

the trouble in building the 6mm engines, is that there are no more 6mm seals! everything else is the same as a later 12a

Hey Teddy, thanks for posting this info and the pics man! I heard of the 6mm apex seals but never seen them. I can't get over how W-I-D-E they look. LOL!

I keep wondering if my RX2 has the original engine or if it had it's engine replaced under warranty back in the day. IIRC, the last time I looked at my housings I was suspecting it's original because I couldn't even find the "12A" stamping on it in the usual spot. It had the "Toyo Kogyo Co Ltd." stamp, but nothing else. Hmm...

OH im not rebuilding this engine i just wanted post pics of the internals for other to see, and what info i could gather from the history and making of these motors is all...Im actually selling this stuff right now...I have no need for it...although i would like to keep them i just know i won't be using them down the road any time soon if at all...lol..

But yeah they make 6mm short apex seal for snow mobiles and other engines...but not the regular size for the 10a or 12a motors...

you can check by looking at the crome plate in the engine compartment, that says all the specs of the car, and it should say the engine number, which is located on the front housing of the block. Hope this helps

My 13A rotors have big carbon apex's too. And twin sideseals.

Note rotor diameter is same as the 16X.

Yep I was checking out a 13A at a local shop couple of months ago, funky looking is all I can say. They were rebuilding it for Mazda.

I am looking for 13a engine parts. Let me know if anyone has some available !
And the last time I checked, the 10a and 12a 6mm carbon seals were still available from Mazda Europe.
I have a few NOS sets if anyone is looking for them.

Really? that has got to be the same engine that I recently supplied the 13A rotors for. I sent them from New Zealand to Mazda R&D Atlanta USA.
