I need help with my cosmo engine

I have a 1993 jc engine (13b-re) and all the bits that go with it. Its all going into a Mini. As i'm not using the factory auto will the engine able to be run on the factory ecu. I heard it may not. I'm trying to keep costs down and want to keep the facotry ecu if I can. Also does anyone have a link to get vacuum line diagrams and wiring loom/plug diagrams of the net. I've looked with no success. Cheers

you'll want to use stand alone engine management-- IE haltech, megasquirt, etc

As the car is being built from scratch, I want to keep the engine cost down to a minium at the moment and concentrate more on the suspension/chassis. Once the car is going and I have had time to get bored with it then a stand alone computer will be used with a large single turbo. But to get it on the road for now ....

Does any one know some one who has put a 13b-re into another car with the stock ecu?

to get it on the road..... haltech or megasquirt thank you, drive thru!

seriously though.. if you're going to bother wiring it, just do it right the first time instead of doing twice as much work for the same thing.

The transmission has nothing to do with engine management, so the answer is YES the stock Cosmo ecu will work fine. You can even use the stock TurboII ECU (87-91 turbo models), but you will have to run the turbos in parallel

Megasquirt is dirt cheap, plus you can use any set of fuel maps from someone with a 13B REW to get it running very close to perfectly. If you don't want to build it yourself, you can pick up a megasquirt box for $150 on eBay without trying.
