How long did you guys look to find an rx3? also how do they compare handling wise?
been looking for pre 74 rx3 coupe on and off. No luck.
but im curious how long did you guys look before you guys found your rx3. im located in bay area California and thought it would be somewhat easy but no luck.
im looking for is a project with clean shell/body/interior doesnt have to run but must be as complete as possible(interior and shell-no engine is ok) with no major body work needed or done to it. fender flares ok.
also what are the average price for a project?
lastly since ive not even seen a complete one go on sale i cant test one out so im wondering how do they feel handling wise? can they be made to handle like an fc?
or like an fbody?
thank you for your input
one more thing. if you guys see one for sale please keep me posted if its not too much of a haslse thank you. willing to pay to ship for right car.

took about one day... lol i already knew where there was one and bought it for 400$ the second one that i bought (mainly for interior parts) came about 2 months later and was owned by an old man,
(who cried as i towed it away.) I ended up being able to put together 1 banging car! Sold anything that I didn't need, Including the stripped shell

I look off and on for a year. I find one 15 mins from my house. I was lucky I found one 100% rust free with a new 13b 6port engine the guy got from Mazda he pay $3500 for the engine he add webers,RB headers, sway bar front and back, interior was all stock no crack dash ( front seat need repair) I all so got the stock engine and a replacement with the car. Its crazy how thing turn out. I remember see this car over 30 years ago when I was 18. When I got the car 5 years ago I was 5 months too late because he had three more cars he was selling 2 where Rx3 SP's and the RX3 I got was the last car he had because he was moving out of state. I just I myself a Rx3 wagon rush free with stock paint that shine like new it has some dents but it give the car character I planning on leaving it the way it is. It's only original ones and the car has AC. It's going to be nice drive around with AC. I lucky finding this car they guy had 3 cars to sell and I got all 3 I sold two of the car and got the wagon almost free. So good luck on your hunting and if I see any I will let you know. We have to keep saving car from the crusher .

Took me about 3 years to find my current one ; I had pretty much given up and had already sold off most of my RX3 parts by then because I really didn't think I would find another in my area.
As far as handling goes , don't expect a whole lot. You have a recirculating ball steering box and a solid rear axle (and originally 13 X 4.5 rims !) . Keep in mind like anything else , you can throw money at it and make it happen. The coupes were(are) fairly successful in ITA , Nasport and SCCA GT-3 formats.
