HC Luce radio doesnt work

the factory tape deck/radio wont turn on but the lights light up when i turn on headlights and the display lights up when you press the reset button. any ideas why it isnt working? i havent pulled it out yet but will have a go over the weekend if i dont take too long pulling out my adjustables from my fc.

is there some sort of button combo i have to push to unlock it or something because its had no battery for a long time before i bought it. or is this a common fault, common for it to clag out seeing as it is nearly 25 years old.

was bored today so decided to pull out the radio. after pulling part of the dash apart I doubt two 10m nuts up in behind it. out it came and it was just one of the two fuses in the back that was blown. on a side note pulled apart my doors and lubed up the window tracks coz they chartered down and up and went painfully slow. only thing that doesn't still work is the heater blows but won't change temp.

I'm sensing sarcasm. just my daily always thought these problems were just age of the car shinning through so didn't bother fixing til the other day. I don't by any means think what I did was outstanding and amazing. just satisfying to have the fold down tape deck and radio working after driving in silence for the past six months.

There's a guy in California- factoryradioservice.com, who repairs radios. I had him redo my '89 vert radio, also added an AUX input jack. Not sure what he could do w/ a non-US spec one that you've got there, or what it'd cost shipping between the US & NZ, but worth mentioning

I've seen pics of the cassette player in that car.. wow, totally sweet! I love all the old technologies of these cars.

it all works sweet as now. had to put in a band expander though so I could get more than 3 stations.
