Harness seat belts for rx3

Anyone have any advice or pictures on how they installed a harness seat belt into a RX3? I know your supposed to go straight out from the shoulders and there doesnt seem to be anything too to bolt too. Are there any aftermarket crossmembers or braces that can be installed in the car for a harness seat belt to attach too?

Stephen

Aftermarket seat belts? They bolt to your cage.

I have too much other stuff to do right now then to put in a cage. For now I just want some decent seat belts that will work with the seat. Hell I dont even have a cage in my fd and its a much faster than this car. Its not a race car, I just dont like driving around town and on the interstate with no seat belt and changing out the front seat isnt on my list of prioreties at the moment....only alternative was some type of aftermarket harness belt. I was hoping there was already something out there designed for this car to attach belts too besides a cage/rollbar.

Oh well, its no biggie

Thanks anyway,
Stephen

Just use the lap belt section, they bolt to the floor in the stock holes.

Well your supposed to try and go as straight back as possible instead of going back down towards teh floor cause in a accident supposedly it can compress the spine. BUT, now that I think about it I assume there are seat belts in teh back seat (dont have the car in front of me and I just bought it). If I used the back seat mounting spot that would be a lot straighter off the shoulder.

Its cool guys, I'll hurt around the car and figure something out....I just didnt know if there was a good kit or something out for this. For the FD you can buy a tower strut brace that has bolt holes drilled into it for a harness belt.

Thanks,
Stephen

My friend reinforced the little metal shelf behind the rear seat and mounted his shoulder belts to that. His shoulder straps were really long, though.

I have race harnesses in my vw rabbit. I used the bolt for the female end of the rear passanger seatbelt to attach my shoulder straps. they come off the seat straight enough.

the reason you don't want to attach the shoulder straps to the floor is, in a wreck your seat could get pushed up, and the harness might crush you.
