Question Haltech or Wolf? M&W or MSD?

Ok....project 13B Starlet is coming along well...I've decided to invest money into a programmable ECU. Reason being that by the time I get the bits for the the stock ECU I need, I'd have spent almost near the price of a good aftermarket ECU. So which brand do you guys recommend? Haltech or Wolf? The thing I like about Wolf is that you have a detachable input pad, so changes can be made sans a laptop. The good thing about Haltech is that the systems are not too expensive and they are well respected. I also have to take in account that I have to get a distributor for the engine...should I get a fuel-only ECU and use the older distributors to change the timing? Or should I just get an ignition&fuel ECU and get a 2nd Gen. distributor? Also, does anyone have experience with using M&W ignitions? I'm interested in this brand and would like some feedback. Thankz for any info!
