FS: Mazda RX-2 S5 13B turbo 1973

Alright I'm thinking about selling my RX-2 project to fund a new project.. ls2 or 20b FD.

Many of you guys have seen the car, and lucky few have been passanger when on full boost.

Alright here is the run down:
S5 T2 motor, street ported, 15k on the motor.
Rebuilt S5 turbo with about 1k miles, ported waste gate.
custom 3" exhaust.
Haltech e6k.
550cc Primarys 1600cc secondays.
custom turbo manifold.
front mount IC 22X12 core.
Front poly bushings, about 300 miles on them.
Sway bar spacer.
S5 T2 tranny.
Custom drive shaft.
Walbro 255lph fuel pump.
Autometer tach.
Autometer boost gauge.
15X8 OZ racing mesh wheels.
Bucket seats.
HKS Blow off valve.

Hmm sure there are a few things I'm forgetting but.. but thats the main thing.

Car is currently tuned for 10psi.. will be tunning for 18 psi soon. The car doesn't weigh much.. under 2000lbs.. so it just flys.

I also have all the steering componets, tie rods.. etc. and all rear bushings.. I just paid over $700 for these shipped form aussie land. which will be included with the car.

Asking 7k obo... car is located in Torrance CA, 90501 and your more then welcome to stop by and take a look. Price is isn't firm, and can be less if I take off parts. Wheels, gauges.. etc.

PM if any questions.. pictures:

This car is fast, alot faster then my FD. I raced my friend in his modded G35 (intake, full exhuast with strait pipes) and I put about 1 bus length on him by 100mph.

Here are a few vids:

http://www.mirror.wreckedyouth.com/vids/lowres2.wmv
http://www.mirror.wreckedyouth.com/vids/rx2watshigh.wmv

I'm in no rush to sell it.. so no low ballesrs.

Hmm I'll update this when I rememer more stuff.

Thanks for looking.

Nice car. I just bought a 72 rx2 today. I wish I would have seen you'rs first, I probably would have bought it! It figures. Oh well. Will you sell the suspension parts separate? If so I will buy them and I am local. Thanks

If the buyer doesn't want the suspension peice I will seprate them, along with the steering componets as well.

d0 Luck: I want to keep her.. but if I start this new project.. I will need the parking space... and I sure don't want to mark my fd's or Rx-2 in the street.

Man I am wishing you the best of luck with this sale; however, I really don't want to see it go to anyone else.

Thanks d0 luck.

Yea if and when it sells.. I'll make sure it goes to a real enthusiast. Just really need the parking.. and I seemed to have a lot of interest in the car already. So figure some else could finish it up.

I like it a lot. Can you make it one color though?

I think your going to have to find a very special person who likes that paint scheme as much
as you do. Please do not take this as a slam.

New owner can paint it if he wants.. but i myself will not be painting it. I always get a kick out of it when I drive it.. girls think its "cute" as well.

Just out of curiousity, what makes you think this car is under 2000 lbs? It looks like most of the interior is still there and the turbo adds a bunch of weight so whats been done to lighten it?

Have you ever took the stock twin dizzy 12A motor out of a rx-2? Its cast iron EVERYTHING, the rotors weigh alot more and the original auto tranny is a giant paper weight.

The stock curb weight with AC and full intior is 2315lbs.

AC, heater, blower motor, front seats (75lbs each replaced with 18lb seats), no carpet... The S5 motor is light compared to the stock 12a and the turbo doesn't weigh much.. custom divided turbo manifold. the S5 T2 motor with turbo tranny weighs a lot less then the stock motor.

I have weighed the car at weight station with full tank of gas, with me in it the car weight was in the high 1900's Don't remember the exact weight. But these cars weren't exactly heavy to start out with.

Hope that answers your question. This price is flexible.. I can even do $6500 with out the rear bushings and steering componts.

The paint scheme on this car is awesome! Anyone who wishes to repaint over it should be shot!

Nice car. I've always been a fan of your GDF Rx2. Personally if I were you I'd try to find some way to keep it. Its gonna be very hard to replace.

If you still got it in a few weeks I may hit you up.

I've got to say that it hurts to see the car for sale. I'm interested in the suspension bits as well, if that's an option.

trainwreck, we all got a kick out of the car when it was on ebay and looked like a joke, but now that you've put real work into her and shared her with the world, she's become one of those handful of publicly-loved cars. If the new owner repaints, then it's his business but would be a shame. Best of luck, buddy.

Thanks for the great compliment guys, I'am just not giving the car the attenchen it needs. Originally was suppost to be a autoX, weekend car to go out and have fun.. but I have been getting into road racing, and been doing a lot of open track days.. so I rather stop this project and start a track only road race car on a better platform.

Although its always a blast to blow by a new Porsche on the streets.. I think a track car will be more fun.

I'am willing to take 6300 with stock rims and tires.
