FS: 1974 RX-2 w/ SP 13B & 5spd NoVA

Yes, sad to say but I need a car for school and I just cannot give this RX-2 the love and attention it needs anymore, so I'm taking offers on it. It has been a very reliable and fun car for me and I'm sure it will be for the next owner.

Engine/Drivetrain:

Streetported 13B & 5spd swap
-RX-4 intake manifold
-Hitachi carb w/ mech. secondaries, choke removed
-Racing Beat intake
-Dual MSD 6A's
-Magnecor wires
-Dual belt alternator pulleys
-Optima redtop battery
-Electric fan
-Custom exhaust w/ extended primaries running into two presilencers, then over-diff to muffler (sounds great, very noticable but not annoying)
-no emissions

Suspension:

-Racing Beat stage 1&2 handling kit
-13x7 American Racing Libres
-Sumitomo HTR 200 tires -
-175/50-13 on front (used approx 400 miles)
-215/50-13 on rear (approx 100 miles)

Interior:
-Grant GT wheel
-OMP pedals
-FC shift ****
-Momo harness (broken, but will included brand new Sparco harness)
-Autopower 4-point street cage (very nice, doesn't impair vision)

Misc:

-Brakes: replaced rear shoes, will include new front pads. Good pedal feel
-Currently does not have bumpers installed, but will included early style bumpers (no 74 style park bench bumpers
-Pioneer CD head-unit (speakers are currently hooked up
-will include several part books/ shop manuals
-Antique plates = no emissions or inspection needed, EVER

The Bad:

-Drivers side fender is damaged, along with the corner of the hood, grill is broken but should be fixable (see pictures in the Imagestation Album)

So e-mail or PM me with offers (maybe trades), remember these cars are very hard to find in any condition, especially on the east coast. If I don't sell it now I will most likely try and get another fender, and take it to a body shop. I was quoted $600 to make it look brand new again if I got another fender, this includes fixing the corner of the hood and colormatching the paint. Then it will probably go to eBay.

I just wanted to give you guys first dibs on it because I want to see it go to an enthusiast who will give it the love and respect it deserves.

Sorry to hear you have to sell it. Good luck. I was looking to see if i had more pix of it. I cant seem to find them. Its a clean car. The body work that is required is minimal. I would take it off yoru hands if i didn't have one to many projects as is. Good luck.

Thanks Fd3BOOST, I wish I didn't have to sell it either. And Wargasm, this car would be more reliable than an FD

Here's some more pictures from awhile back: http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4288936041

Yes it is, and I just got the new Sparco harnesses today, they go with the car a lot better than the red Momo's:

It is located right outside Manassas Virginia, about 40 minutes away Washington DC.

The signals are just amber bullet shaped bulbs on an L bracket, should be able to find them at most auto stores. The 71-73 bumper seems to mount a bit higher on 74 cars, if I put the front bumper back on I'd probably need to modify the mounts so it wouldn't block the signals.

Yeah, I got a set of 72 chrome bumpers with the car, and the first thing I did was throw the 74 bumpers away. Do your turn signals have running lamps as well, or are they just turn signals?

They are just turn signals, I'm guessing you could make them work as running lamps as well, but they only have one connection. I always drive with my headlights on anyways, with all the huge vehicles driving around today that don't seem to pay attention to anything smaller than them...

Please don't try to drive a 30-year-old Mazda from VA to NY. Regardless of the condition of the car, don't trust the little thing to make it without logging several miles in it around town. It's a good-looking car that's been taken care of, but it's not a good idea to count on it making the trek troublefree.

Car was driven over 1000 miles from southern Florida back to Northern Virginia, only had to stop for gas and to put some air in the tires. Of course we had another car following us the whole way just in case. Luckily we had decent weather most of the way.
