Eunos Cosmo 20B-REW with CCS
I'm looking for evidence that a Eunos Cosmo 20B-REW was imported into the US prior to August 1999. Also, the car must have had a car communication system (CCS). I know the CCS was in models made in 1990, but I am not sure if the CCS continued to be installed up to when manufacture terminated in about late 1994.
Do you know if a Eunos Cosmo 20B-REW with CCS was imported into the US prior to August 1999? Please get in touch if you may be able to help!

There was one 20b Cosmo that was import back in 1990 by mazda I believe.... The car is now owned by Brad Berger? and it resides in Washington state IIRC.... That was the only NEW cosmo to ever some to the US, everything else was used from Japan..... I think we have a total of about 5-6 in the US

Brad Berger can be contacted via CORKSPORT.
He has recently sold the Cosmo to another USA collector.
Check the DMRH web site under "Club Cosmo" section to check his old car.
The Type-E.CCS version was sold from 1990 -1995 (91-96 using USA **** factor)

Neither. What I am searching for is evidence that a Eunos Cosmo with a car communication system (CCS) was present in the USA before August 1999. I do not necessarily need the car to still be in existence, though I would prefer it. Ideally, I would at least gain access to a copy of the documents which prove that the Eunos Cosmo with CCS was present in the USA before August 1999. Documents showing the car was registered in the USA before August 1999 should therefore be sufficient. I was hoping that the car Brad once owned had a CCS, but it seems that it did not have a CCS.

This is all very confusing.... If you don't mind me getting into detail, whats so special about the CCS option being used in the US?? I know it works in Japan and its in Japanese, but I highly doubt Mazda converted it over to english just for that one JC that was imported back in 1990.. Do you have a JC cosmo with CCS in England that you're tring to convert over to english? Do you require the "proof" inorder for Mazda to realise a "one- off" english "firmware" that's probably locked up in a vault somewhere in Japan??
Mr Morris, do you have any evidence of an all english CCS system made by mazda??

Bear in mind. The Brad berger Cosmo (as you would see if you viewed the Club Cosmo section of the DMRH site) is a Type-E version & not a Type-E.CCS
Personally, I am not aware of any English version of the CCS controls for the touch screen. A few people asked about it 5+ years ago & a geek had a look at a CCS module for me. He likened it to a 386-PC for intelligence capability. Stated that the Kanji is an image on an X-Y pixel scale that would have to be replaced with an equal English version if it was converted.
A tech development company said they would have a go at the time & I needed to make a pre-payment of $5k to get it started. They suggested that was just for starters & it could go above $10k blah blah blah.
Well, that certainly scared me off.
Imagine paying $10k for the conversion & then trying to on-sell that to the rare CCS customer wanting an English conversion........
