It won't work. The bellhousing bolt pattern is different. I have one of those trannies and it just sits there waiting for me to get the '71-'73 12A back together.

Ghetto compression test, remove a plug from a housing, crank over and listen for 3 strongs whooses, repeat for other housing. Not so ghetto. hold the release valve on a piston type compression tester, watch for 3 strong bounces, release the valve to get a total psi on the best of the 3. Last, best option, find someone who has a rotary engine compression tester, good luck.

If you don't have a copy of any FSMs, check my sig line for a link to the online ones. I believe there is an RX4 one there. It should give you some general help.
