Ha Guys,
I am new to this forum. I Have got plans to do a 13BT Transplant into an
austin mini. I already have the drive train and the mini shell. Next move is to
construct a chassis and locate a suspension. I will keep you all posted
when everything is ready to go. By the way I have for my road car a Datsun 1200
with a CA18DET.

Winzie.

Here is what my 1303 super is going to look like it is a 1973 vw bug it is not that hard to install the rotary in and handels like a 911 when set up right. No one expects a car like this to have the power of the 13BT

running porsche breaks it will stop very very well

Vincent Strader

you can find out more about cars that look and handel like this at
www.germanlook.com

There was a stripped out VW Bug with a 13BT in it at sevenstock. It was insane! It looked like a quick fix because the engine was just hanging there out in the open. There was also an AE86 with a rotary that looked like a lot of fun.

Personally, if I had to stick a rotary in something old, I'd put it in a 240Z or 914.

Grassroots Motorsports has an awesome writeup on transplanting a 13B into a Triumph Spitfire: http://www.grassrootsmotorsports.com/rospit.html
Their writeup is what inspired me to buy my FC from the junkyard. Unfortunately for the Spit, I got hooked on the FC instead.
ANyone wanna buy a '71 Spitfire in NorCal?

Coolest swap ever has got to be a 240z with a 20B. It's never been done, I just think that it would rock! And fill out the engine bay much better than a 13B. Personal favorite for me would be an MG midget, as long as I could get 4 wheel discs and LSD. It wouldn't stop or go very well if it didn't have those things, mostly the LSD really; that and I dunno what the MG rear-end can take.

Wow there are a lot of cars I had not thought of. Thanks for the ideas, the only bad thing is that all the old school rear drives are hard to find or expensive. I had a friend from my old job who said he would give me his repu I just come and tow it. Gonna call tomorrow and see if he remember the conversation.

It appears to have been done both turbo and na. A quick Google search turns up a ton of links. Looks like a good match!

I have put a 13b EGI into a Skoda Estelle (Czechoslovakian car much belittled here in England.........) anyway if you can find one you simply build a subframe to take VW Beetle IRS rear suspension, Transaxle etc etc then with a "KEP" adapter plate your in business!!

Mine runs 13 second quarter miles with 0-60 mph coming up in 5.8 seconds ( all up weight of just 970 Pounds)

Somebody touched on a subject of a Motorcycle engine in a mini cooper in the UK ....a kit of some sort, I would like someone to shed light on the transmission used, as I dont forsee very many options on transmission desighned to redline 10,000 -11,000 rpms and god forbid a 600cc 14,500-15,500 redline. Anyone??

Is there a writeup on this somewhere on the net? I am utterly intrigued by the idea of a 970# street car. That is less than half the weight of my FC.... . .

Are you sure that's not kg?
