did brigs and straton make a rotary?
A buddy at work told me he heard briggs and straton made a rotary. He belives it was in the 70's I know a lot of different manufactures had rotary programs back in the 60-70's era, but never heard of that one. He thought they produced it,and if so wonders if there are any out there to find. He races g0-carts and thinks it'd be a neat motor to use.

I didn't think anything ever came of John Deere's rotary program.
The Sachs motors used in Arctic Cats would make a great go-kart engines. Actually that's a project that I'd really like to do someday.

John Deere actually sold some rotaries. There's a brochure floating around out there on the internet somewhere of rotary engines made by them. They even have a set of rotors from a John Deere Diesel rotary at Pettit Racing hanging up on the wall in the shop. When I saw them I thought they were wierd 12A race rotors, untill I looked closer and Cam said that they were Deere Diesel rotors.

rotary lawn mower
There was a single rotor, push style lawn mower in the 70's I forget who made it but I saw one of them years ago.
the rotor was alighned horizontal with the mower deck, and it had the standard pull rope to start it.
I honestly cannot for the life of me remember who made it though.

cool guys my guess is it's the sachs lawn mower engine he meant but just assumed it was by briggs and straton since they are the best known for small mower and go cart motors.
