Death of a REPU video

I seen this on youtube today. Looks and sounds like a REPU. What a dumbass.

Thumbs up It's not a REPU folks....

... not even sure it's a Mazda, though the body lines do appear similar. The roof height is not right for a Mazda, save for the foreign market trucks that predated the B1600, the cab B-pillar is way too thin to even be B1600/B1800. It actually looks more like a very early Toyota to me.

It's not a REPU, though.

Neal.

Yeah... that's not a REPU. It's not a Courier, either. Not sure what it is-- er, was. Could be a Toyota like kansei says.

Well, considering that there's no such thing as a RHD REPU...

Yeah, sorry- didn't think I had to even mention the Couriers. Rule the Mazdas out, and obviously you rule the Courier out, too. I kind of forget to remember not everyone knows that. I generally hang out on mazdarepu.com; vintageroatries.org, rotarycarclub, etc. where all those folks already know all the interchageabilities. Good thought bringing that up, before someone else posted convinced it was a Courier!

don't know how that could be mistaken for a REPU... but none the less it was a pretty clean old truck... looked kinda like a late 60's Datsun pickup

I think it was an old Datsun pickup. There was one for sale not far from me and it looks strangely familiar to that Datsun, in styling I mean.

I owned a 74 repu for a little while. The roof lne and rear cab look like repu to me but I wasn't agonizing over it either way. I though it sounded like a rotary engine also but take it for what you want. I thought it was pretty stupid to try yanking that tree with it regardless.
