Coca-Cola gasket?? No,No,No
So my buddy Jason just blew his engine on his turbo starlet, after installing a BG S366. We thought that it was due to improper tuning and what-not, but lord and behold we found a very interesting development when we pulled the wastegate of the the turbo.
Apparently the tuner who assembled his turbo got lazy and popped in a nice Coca-cola gasket (If you look closely you can see 12 FL OZ on the bottom). During this time chunks of apex seals were just falling out of the turbo fins, and it became obvious that some people shouldn't be near rotaries.
Of course no one wants to assume responsibility for it, but he is getting his engine rebuilt for free!

a blown exhaust gasket would not cause your blown motor, find another reason to hate your tuner even though that was a cheap uneeded fix.. feel sorry for your builder stuck in the middle, building an engine for free due to a tuning issue(unless he was also the tuner).

They don't know what the cause was for the blown motor. I go to a separate person for my builds and tune. His tuner is also the builder, he had also made really awkward applications with the vacuum lines. supposedly some of them caught fire....?
