The REPU has been saved. The RX-4 is still on the chopping block for now.
And no the RX-3 will be getting a new color later on. It'll still look nice though. Just much different then how it looks now.
oh and wacky be nice or no more kick downs for you. You can find your own RX-3's

Pertano, glad to hear you are trying to save the REPU. I'm just playing since I'm similar to you, where I'm always looking out for those deals and sometimes it keeps me from moving ahead on the projects I'm already wayyyy behind on.
BTW: Is it just me, or have you guys been noticing some good deals lately on the old school Japanese stuff? I'm not talking cars that are already completed. I just mean the "diamond in the rough" cars that are complete but still need TLC or restoration. Maybe it's just me but I noticed the prices are falling to where they were 5 years ago or more. Probably the lousy economy.

I was trying to sell the truck or RX4 to help a family member out. They ran into some trouble over the weekend and asked for some help. We have since found an alternate source of funding for them so I can keep my REPU. The RX-4 money would still help, but if we sort a few more issues out in the next couple days the RX-4 won't be going anywhere either.
Just they curve ***** life throws you from time to time.
Oh and yes the prices of these cars is falling some. I won't say to 5 years ago prices, but definately falling. The problem now is that with price of gas people are looking for econocial little cars and the Toyota's and Datsun's are now on peoples radars as great buys. They must see me riding around town in my Corolla and get jealous.
There was a clean 1980 510 wagon this weekend at pomona swap meet for 14 grand!!! Yes 14 grand. it didn't sell.

$14,000 for a 510... damn, you could buy a nice, 70's restomod 510 for way less than that...
Pertano: I like the RX-3... I don't really know anything about the RX's, but it looks good. What colour are you planning on painting it? Or is it a surprise?
I had a quick, almost-off-topic question... do you know the final drive ratio, tire size, and weight of the REPU? I'm putting a 12a with a four-speed auto in a Datsun pickup, and I'm curious as to whether or not I'll be able to tow anything with it. However... I want to be able to run it on the highway without using too much gas, so I may have to decide between fuel economy and power...
