Any pics of 808 or Mizer?

I ask because... well OK.

There's a guy by my friend's house who just got a red FB. We laugh at it every time we drive past because it has a GT-R badge on the fuel filler door and other goofy looking things on it (like oil stickers, etc)

Anyway, about last week another car is parked in front of it. It's an older Japanese car, I forst pegged it as a Toyota or Datsun. It has no trim, no bumpers, etc. Anyway, driving past it one day I noticed that it had a big *** black rotor decal in the back window. (Covering the back window, more like) I told my friend to stop... Sure enough, on the front of the hood are faded, dirty spots where it used to say MAZDA (five separate letters).

Hmm.

It's about RX-3 sized, roughly, but it doesn't have the distinctive RX-3 B-pillar treatment. Now, I thought 808s had the same body as RX-3s but just a different nose. Does anybody have any pics?

I'll see if I can get my friend to take some pics of the car, so you guys can tell me what the hell this is.

I think it's rotary powered, too... same friend was telling me how he was driving to work one day and a noisy white car went past him and he saw a big rotor decal in the back... he said he thought it was an RX-3 but he's not really sure (imports aren't really his thing, but he knows a rotary when he hears one).

Speaking of "Colts", we just eliminated one from the backyard here today... we didn't have the keys so we had to break in (jimmy the lock, easy on a Mitsu) and then pop the steering column. That was very therapeutic, involving hammers AND large prybars.

It was a crap Precis, though, not anything that old.

This has little or nothing to do with the subject at hand, except that both cars are white, in the same neighborhood, and both were involved in my life in a cool way.

I think it's either a stockport or streetport in that white Colt, BTW. Idles too smooth (but definitely a rotary!)

Old school dodge colt. or mitsubishi Lancer. that was the first car the owners of the famous Sakura Motorsports put together before the mitsu Mirage they have now. I believe they ran as fast as 9.0 1/2 chassis mitsu 2.6 engine back in the days. If it has a custom rotor job it rules!!!!
