Angry Bee Racing Capella
Greetings from the land down under! I thought I'd post up our All Motor car here for you perusal. I've got plenty more pics of the buildup over the last year, so if you want to see anything in particular just let me know and I'll see what I can do.
This is what we started with:
And this is pretty close to where it's at currently:
The car is currently at storage at my inlaws as we are moving cities for work this weekend, but I shall be getting stuck into it once we get up there.

Hmm, can't really remember the specs as it was nearly a year ago that it was all bought, but I think it's a s5 block, 2mm seals etc, not really sure on port size as they were second hand housings. Throttle bodies are 60mm running twin 550 injectors per throttle. This is being bumped up for the methanol tune. Other than that, just a lightened flywheel, solid plate clutch and steel case celica box running through to a hilux (I think they are a tacoma or something over there?) diff with spool.
Our best so far is 12.3@98mph. I had backed off to save the dial in which is why the mph is low (about 10 off our current best). We have also had a few alternator issues that we're impacting on power, but that's all fixed now as well.
Can't wait to get this thing back out to the track

We want the title of quickest / fastest NA 2 rotor in Aus, and then maybe the world mauahahaha
I've got a few things I want to do, adjustable 4 links, s5 brake / strut conversion on the front (possibly doing away with the swaybar in the process), cage and plenty of track time to fine tune it all as the way that I see it, the most gains are going to be made in the chassis development area. And then we might look at a second car with 20bpp...

Cheers guys.
Here's a vid from our last outing, not the best angle though

Still needs some fine tuning, but we'll get there

Historically its
Colin Bieber 10.69@126 13B PP + Jerico
Clayton Leist 11.56@118 13B PP + Rx4 4 Speed
Colin's car now has a 20B PP, ran in the 9's not long ago. I'm not sure whether you would call it "record" or not as it's one of those early Honda hatches that weigh next to nothing and probably not legal for record setting under the current rules in either ANDRA or Sport Compact Group here in Aus.
Having said that, he's still the quickest so that's what we're aiming for

Here's the records for both 20b and 13b here in the US.
Here for both 2 & 3 rotor they are from Kilo Racing.
The 20B is at 8.80's and the two rotor at 9.80's.

Good luck with the record. I'm trying to beat the 12a record. Beating the 20b record with a 2 rotor is going to be impossible as the motor will always make more horsepower and torque than a two rotor.

I'm not bothered about the 20B time, I just want to beat the 2 rotor time. The only way I could get down into the 10's with a 2 rotor is perhaps a full chassis and clutchless setup, and even then it would have to be under weight (as well as me shaving a few pounds myself ).

Apparently it's in the toilet as well, but the real killer is the crap value of our dollar. Before the economic crisis we were around 97US, now it's 65US or something so getting the good bits from you guys is not really feasible at this point. We'll just have to press on with what we have for the time being, and fab up anything custom (which I like doing anyway ).

I can understand the Puerto Rico mazda rotary drag racer's taking advantage of the USD-NZD exchange rate to buy race engines from New Zealand.
But I dont see any financial advantage of Australian mazda rotary drag racers purchasing race engines from NZ. Yet the Ozzies continue to import from NZ.
Bloody Ozzie's dont have anything worth buying.
Remember....Australia has far more sheep!

Some PR's fastest drag rotary engines (incl PR's major league RX8 6.81@202mph)were built right here in New Zealand!
I know of at least 1 other kiwi built multi rotor race engine in PR and another 2 on the way.

Finally got out to the track, had a few issues but made improvements anyway. Did 2 full passes, 12.06@106 and 12.04@105. Seems to be laying over in the top end a bit but hopefully we'll get that sorted soon.
